Alaia Blank - Single Slab
We have a limited supply of these single-slab Alaia Blanks in beautiful, solid paulownia. A single slab is one continuous cut from a tree, just like the ancient Hawaiian Alaias.
There is something magical about a single, unglued alaia blank. You clearly see and feel the grain of the tree and see how it grew, its age, and elements of its history.
These blanks are not the best for regular surfing because tensions within the wood sometimes lead to cracks on the end of the board. Although these boards are not for hard surfing, they are fine pieces of functional art. They tell stories of ancient surfing and design.
